Acton Publishers has as its Mission the publication of high quality books on African Scholarship, in English, for the purpose of promoting academic and professional research and teaching within Africa primarily, and globally as well. Acton books are targeted to specialized and general readers of African Scholarship both within and outside Africa, with commitment to high quality in both content and production.
On special arrangement, Acton Publishers has published selected titles originally published by other Publishers including Orbis, SCM, Peter Lang and WCC. Many titles in the Acton Catalogue are currently in use as course texts at both undergraduate and postgraduate institutions in Africa and elsewhere. Doctoral candidates in more than a dozen universities and other institutions of higher learning have used Acton books for their research.
Acton books are distributed to most capital cities of English-speaking African countries through appointed Stockists. They are also available online through the Website of Acton Publishers, www.acton.co.ke. Some titles are available through the Online Library of www.globethics.net based in Geneva. Bulk orders can be processed directly from Acton Publishers. Retail orders are obtainable from the Stockists.

This is achieved through a peer review process, which has been refined for more than twenty years. Thereafter, any Manuscript accepted for consideration must be revised in accordance with the recommendations of specialized reviewers, with particular attention to content, form and linguistic style. Manuscripts not revised as advised cannot be published. All the review process is electronic.
Acton Books are designed to very high specifications in printing, binding, cover and trimming. All titles have UV vanished covers in at least two colours. The production is electronically controlled to ensure standard quality in all copies.
